The problem

A manufacturing company based in Suffolk with a turnover approaching £2M were about to lose their long term bookkeeper due to retirement. The company were using Sage 50 but only limited training had been provided. As a result the company was relying on its year end accounts to amend their final accounts, failing to make full use of all the benefits that Sage offers.

The solution

BM Accounting Solutions carried out a full investigation and consequently introduced many changes to the way the bookkeeping was being processed. These changes resulted in a reduction from five full days to three full days per week spent on the bookkeeping duties. Savings were made with the year end accounting fees as the information provided was more accurate, meaning the company could drop its half yearly inspections. Further savings were made on stationery and other cost areas within the business. The management were also provided with accurate and timely monthly management reports.
